In our community, senior living means living well.
The Charlotte, NC area is a haven for healthy fun.
“Wellness is the reason people come here.”
- Amy Smith, Director of Wellness Activities and Transportation
Wellness programs at our senior community scored an impressive 96% on a past Resident Satisfaction Survey—one of its highest ratings. What’s the secret? Ask anyone in the Charlotte, NC region who knows The Pines.
Of course, our Workman Wellness Center has impressive facilities: a Wellness Clinic staffed by an RN, a cardio fitness room, a strength training room with senior-friendly hydraulic exercise equipment, expert personal training and on-site massage therapy. Our warm water therapy pool is especially enticing. While most pools recycle water every six hours, ours recycles approximately every two and a half. It’s also equipped with UV light filters, for meticulous hygiene. Even in these unseen ways, we go out of our way to please our residents.
Exercise classes—from cardio classes to aqua Pilates— are popular, but so is walking. Stroll into town, head down the greenway to enjoy nature or just explore our wooded campus to watch the birds. Residents also take advantage of our free passes to the nearby Lake Norman YMCA, with its spectacular lakefront view, and discount memberships at River Run Country Club. Our popular Wellness Fairs bring everything from hearing aids to health foods to campus.
Wellness activities are a way of life here. But the reason they’re so successful is that so many friends do them together.
The Wellness Clinic: In Sickness and in Health
With our Wellness Clinic, The Pines offers residents convenience and peace of mind. Open 8 a.m. to noon six days a week, the Clinic is staffed by a Registered Nurse who tends to residents in many ways – checking blood pressure or blood sugar levels, performing lab work, dressing wounds, answering questions about medications and helping set up doctors’ appointments. Residents can take advantage of regular visits from a mobile dentist, podiatrist and audiology clinic.
Residents here also take comfort knowing that help from a nurse is available right away in urgent situations, with four ways to send an alert. The Pines has a registered nurse on site 24 hours a day, ready to respond to medical emergencies.
